Kas Turkey

Kas Turkey was one of the prominent cities of Lycian civilization and archaeological excavations have revealed that was a settlement here in B.C 6. Kas was called Habesos in the antique period. Later on it came to be known as Antiphellos. The doors of the Anatolia were opened for Turks and Nomands settled in this region. In the 13th century the area was totally Turkicized and city was named Andifli.

The monumental tomb (from the 4th century B.C.) at uzunçarşı in the centre of Kas is the most magnificent sarcophagus which gas reached our days.

Another one which has reahed our day is Kas Antique Theatre, dated to 1st century B.C and repaired in 2nd century A.D with a seating capacity of 2500 people and built on 26 steps.
