Meis Greek island is very quite and colourful. Other name is Castellorizo.It was given by Italian and it is Italian name, it means redcasttle. Greek name is Megisti. It means biggest. Meis is Turkish name nad given by Turk. This island is the closest to Turkish Coastal Line. Just 25 minutes from Kas . People who live in Meis, shop from Kaş. They sail to Kaş and get all needs from this tiny Turkish town.

When you come to Kas, recommend to go to Meis and explore the region. Highlights of Meis is Blue Cave, museum, and restaurants.

What to do in Castellorizo

Blue cave is the famous point in Meis. You should get the boat to reach there. it is 25 metres high, the entrance is only a metre but once you sail into it, the light reflecting off the water is amazing. You understand when you see the colour into the cave as blue.

Meis has small museum and see the some antique item from world war1 and 2. It is very small.

In the past Turkish people had lived in Meis. During exchange of people, Greek people had moved to Meis, Turkish people had moved to Kas. So in Meis had a mosque for muslim Turkish people. When you visit the Meis, you can see the re-constructed mosque in Meis.

Meis Greek island has casttle and you can visit the casttle too.
