Daily Hikings on Lycian Way Based Kaş 7nights 8days

Itinenary:

1.Gün : Flight to Dalaman – Fethiye.
After arriving to Airport, you will meet your tour guide. Then we will transfer you to Kaş. There are no activities planned for today so you are free to arrive in Kas at any time. Accommodation in Kaş.

Day 2 – Kaş(Antiphellos)-Limanağzı
We start our holiday with a gentle warm-up day. We’ll follow the way which is along the coast. This part of the Lycian way has the most magnificent view of turquoise water and ancient rock tombs.
Then we will begin to hike up and arrive to Limanağzı. Lunch is at a restaurant at Limanağzı. At Limanagzi there will be time to relax or have a swim before we head back to Kas by another route, where you may see some rock tombs

There is however also the option to take a water taxi back to Kas.
Walk: Distance 6 km Ascent 205m Descent 208  Time: 2.5 hours

Day 3 Hiking  Delikkemer to Patara
Today you will be amazed when you see the Delikkemer. We start the day with a short transfer (approx. 40 mins) to Yesil Koy village, where we start our varied walk along the route of an old aqueduct, which, in ancient times, supplied the water to the city of Patara.  After a short break for pictures, we will pass over the Roman aqueduct.
we will continue walking along the Lycian way and end at the ancient city of Patara. After 9 km we finish our walk at the impressive ruins in the Patara National Park, where you have the option to explore the ancient city, visit the ancient theatre, bouleuterion (Parliament building) and some other remains such as the necropolis. Time allowing, there is the option of going to the seemingly endless beach at Patara for a swim. The soft sand and shallow sea make this a perfect spot for sea turtles to come and lay their eggs. Not surprisingly therefore the beach today is a protected area. We will then head back to the hotel in Kaş by bus.
Walk: Distance 9 km Ascent 218m Descent 378m Time: 4 hours

Day 4 Ufakdere-Limanağzı-Kaş(Antiphellos)
After breakfast we will transfer to our starting point. We start to hike from Ufakdere and we’ll follow the way which is along the coast. We hike parallel to sea coast with Meis(Grek İsland) view. This part of the Lycian way has the most magnificent view of turquoise water and ancient rock tombs. Then we will begin to hike up and arrive to Limanağzı. Lunch is at a restaurant at Limanağzı. Our day finishes as we come back to Kaş by boat. (Trekking time 5 hours).

Day 5 Hacıoğlan-Phellos 14km-(7hours)
After breakfast we’ll transfer you to Hacıoğlan Village. Today hiking will be little bit hard. We pass the canyon and path will be ascent. We’ll walk through the forest to Phellos antic city. On the way to Phellos we’ll be around 1300m high and we will see lots of endemic trees and natural life on high plateaus. We stop for relaxing around 5 minutes after 1 hour hiking. We provide the lunch as picnic. (Trekking time 7 hours)

Day 6 Xantos Ancient City -Çavdır-Üzümlü Village 12 km- Optional Hike

200 m ascent -5 hours walking

Today, we hike from Çavdır village where is the historical aqueduct beginning point and visit the Xanthos ancient city of Lycian. We hike with Kınık plateau view and on the historical waterway that has been built to provide the drinking water for Xantos in the 2nd century. We pass from Üzümlü village and Çayköy, so we have seeing the villages on the trail.End of the hiking, we have very short transfer to Xanthos ancient city where is the first capital city of Lycian and visit the ruins. We move to our hotel in Kaş for accommodation.

Eating and Drinking

All breakfasts and Lunchs (hiking  days) included. Dinners excluded.

Breakfasts normally include boiled eggs, cucumber, tomatoes, cheese, honey or jam and yoghurt, olives and bread. Lunches may be taken as picnics or in lokantas (small local restaurants). For dinners, Kas has plenty of excellent restaurants and cafés for you to choose from. Some specialise in locally caught fish dishes, others in various lamb dishes. There are also plenty of snack bars where ‘Pide’ (Turkish Pizza) is served. Most restaurants also offer selections of Meze (mixed starters). The Turks have a sweet tooth, so expect plenty of pastries covered in honey, as well as cakes and ice creams.

This trip is Activity Level 2 (leisurely/moderate) with 4 days of walking, 1 free day and 1 day of boat tour

Please note that although the walks run on established paths, they can be rocky underfoot with some exposed areas (no guard rails), so you will need to be steady on your feet. The itinerary on this trip remains flexible, to allow you to do as much or as little as you like.

All in all this is a relaxing but active break where there is something to suit all tastes – stunning walks, impressive historical sites, excellent food, long sandy beaches and numerous optional activities including diving and paragliding. The walks last on average 4 hours (not including rest stops) and, to some extent, will be tailored to the abilities and interests of the group as well as the season. Kas is a lively town in the summer; out of season it can be quiet but is never deserted, as the town is not entirely dependent on tourism.

Accomodation

Our base is usually the Phellos Hotel in centre and Arpia Hotel in peninsualla of Kaş. Hotels are a well appointed  in the beaches. Hotels are modern, clean and comfortable, with en suite facilities, air conditioning and some with balcony. There is also an outdoor swimming pool (open May to October) and a restaurant/bar where breakfast is served. The hotel offers double, twin and some triple rooms, and there is a limited number of interconnecting rooms.
Please note: on occasion we might use a different hotel of a similar standard.

Recommendations:
Customers should have high quality hard soled  trekking boots, rain gear, swimwear, sunhat and sunblock, and a 20-30 litre daysack, walking sticks are recommended.
