Lycian Way trekking route is the longest footpath of Turkey. It’s 509 km long and the 4th longest trekking route of Europe. The Lycian Way has been rated by the Sunday Times as one of the 10 best long walks in the World.
The Lycians were one of the earliest people of the ancient world, whose political sophistication, culture and commercial success were the envy of many larger and well known civilizations.
When you’re walking on the Lycian Way, you’re always together with the amazing nature of the Mediterranean climate and thousands years of history which is still full of mysteries and waiting to be explored. While trekking on Lycian way you’ll need your trekking boots and raincoat, you’ll also need your swimsuits. On the Lycian Trail sometimes you walk through endemic forest and sometimes you walk just by the coasts of Lycians and can swim over the sunken ruins of Lycians.
Overview:
The Turquoise Coast offers an alluring combination of beautiful scenery and ancient sites with some fine coastal and inland walking on the many trails in the area, including sections of the famed Lycian Way. Highlights include the sunkencity of Kekova, Ölüdeniz Lagoon, magnificient bays, the chance to walk over a Roman aqueduct and some fantastic coastal views. Those looking for more adventure can also take part in a number of optional activities including diving, paragliding, seakayaking and canyon walkings.

Itinenary:
Day 1 : Flight to Dalaman – Fethiye.
After arriving to Airport, you will meet your tour guide. Then we will transfer you to Faralya-Ovacık. There are no activities planned for today so you are free to relaxing time or depends on arriving to Hotel, we will walk Kayaköy to Ölüdeniz as a starter. Accommodation in Ovacık.
Day 2 Ovacık-Mount Babadağ-Butterfly Valley-Kirme-Faralya
After breakfast we will transfer to starting point. We’ll follow the way which is along the ridge of Mt. Babadag. This part of Lycian Way has the most magnificent view which contain blue lagoon (Oludeniz), butterfly valley and paragliders.
Then we will begin to walk up and arrive to Faralya. Accommodation in a pension in Faralya. (Trekking time 6 hours)
Day 3 :Faralya (Butterfly Valley)-Alınca
After breakfast, we’ll climb up via Kabak valley to Alinca mountain village 740 metres high. Today will be not easy and we generally ascent. But our view will be the Kabak bay and then Seven Capes. Accommodation in village houses and bungalows. (Trekking time 5 hours / 14 km)
Day 4 : Alınca – Sancaklı Beach – Gey
We will begin to descent to Sancaklı Beach. After a swimming break we will ascent again.(Trekking time is 2 hours) and then we will follow a cliff to reach to Gey village. Accommodation in village house in Gey. (Trekking time 3 hours)
Day 5 : Gey – Sidyma Antique City
Today’s destination will be Sidyma old city of Lycian Union. We climb through pine forest to bare escarpment.Then enter a steep valley with jungle like vegetation and the smooth red barked Strawberry trees ( Arbutus Andrachne) before descending to Sidyma. In Sidyma we tour the site which is picturesquely nestled within the existing village. Our bus will meet us here and take us to Patara, where we will continue on to the beach and archeological site, the harbour city of Lycia. We will have time to view this vast ancient city, some of the ruins were impeccably preserved under the sand dunes. we will marvel at the recently restored parliament building, thought to be the earliest federal parliament in history. You can have a cooling swim and refreshing drink on the sandy beach before sunset.
Overnight in standard pansiyon. Dinner included.
Trekking approx 8,5 km. 4 Hours. 410m of ascent 440m of descent.
We will transfer from here to Kaş. Accommodation in Kaş. (Trekking time 7 hours.)
Day 6 : Delikkemer-Patara
Today you will be amazed when you see the Delikkemer. After a short break for pictures, we will pass over the Roman aqueduct. We will stop near the old well and under the pine trees for lunch. From here we will continue walking along the Lycian way and end at the ancient city of Patara. We will then head back to the hotel in Kaş by bus. (Trekking time 4 hours)
Day 7 :Sahilkılınçlı-Aperlai-Üçağız
Today’s first destination will be Sunken City of Aperlai. When you see the sunken ruins and have the chance to swim over sunken ruins after lunch and you’ll never forget us and the land of the light “Lycia.” Then continue to hike to Üçağız village in Kekova.
(Trekking time 6 hours.)
The day finishes with our drive back Kaş by bus and a relaxing time for your body and mind at a traditional “Turkish Bath.”
Day 8 : FREE TIME AND BACK TO HOME
Recommendations:
Customers should have high quality hard soled trekking boots, rain gear, swimwear, sunhat and sunblock, and a 20-30 litre daysack, walking sticks are recommended.
